Fanatical religious beliefs, fanatical political doctrine, extreme, hardline, no exceptions attitudes are the root of our problems. An unwillingness, or even rejection of another human being just because the behavior or patterns don't align with the words in a book or the teachings of a particular person causes so many problems. A fanatic can never be wrong and the opposing view can never be possible. There is no room for change no room for compromise. Fanaticism will always, always degenerate into hate, war, and genocide. My heart aches as I write these words because I see no end to the self destruction of communities, cultures, worlds.
